GETTING INVOLVED AT SINAI

Being part of the Sinai family means having deep connections with each other, and feeling connected to others in our world. We care about each other and we know how to have a lot of fun. We honor and encourage each person’s Jewish journey and we welcome all types of families and individuals into our community. There are so many fulfilling ways to get involved at Sinai. Check out some of the many groups and committees to find s way to connect.

  • The Chesed Committee is here to help out with meals and other assistance to individuals and families experiencing illness, a loss, or a new baby. Add your name and contact information to receive notices whenever there is a need within the community.

  • Sinai Women are dedicated to service and social activities for the synagogue community. Our mission is to contribute to the life of the synagogue by hosting fun social functions for members and fundraising for various projects.

  • The Men's Club provide opportunities for the men of Congregation Sinai to come together socially and strengthen our bonds as a community.  There is no fee to join – all are welcome.

  • Our teen youth group, SJCUSY (San Jose USY) holds events throughout the year ranging from lounge nights to lock-ins to ski retreats to weekend Shabbatons. These events are designed to build life-long relationships and foster Jewish identity. SJCUSY also participates in New Frontier’s regional Weekends throughout the year.

  • Do you like to cook? The Sinai Cooking Club gets together to plan and create several meals a year to bring the community together, from Shabbat Dinners, to holiday meals. Share your passion for food and friendship.

  • The Sinai Hiking Club meets approximately monthly for an easy to moderate Sunday morning hike.

  • Meet at Sinai for a monthly screening of a film with some sort of Jewish theme.

  • Our community has always sought spiritual inspiration through song. Simply put, we like to sing together. To foster greater connection, expand opportunities for leadership, and build our singing community, Kolot Sinai (Voices of Sinai) was first introduced during High Holidays 5783. And now, the music continues.

  • The Sinai Book Club meets monthly on Thursday evenings over Zoom.
