Sinai Film Club “Denial”: Sunday, May 17, in the Mirkin Chapel. Doors open at 6:15pm for schmoozing and free refreshments, and the film begins promptly at 6:45pm with discussion to follow. Entrance and refreshments are  free. 

Denial (1hr. 45 min.) is a biographical film based on Deborah Lipstadt's 2005 book History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier. It dramatizes the Irving v Penguin Books Ltd case, in which Lipstadt, Holocaust scholar and more recently former U.S. Envoy combatting antisemitism, was sued by David Irving, a Holocaust denier, for libel. Directed by Mick Jackson, written by David Hare, and starring Rachel Weisz, the film is unfortunately more relevant today than it was a decade ago.
