To celebrate Tu b’Av, we will be showing a modern Israeli-Palestinian West Side Story, A Borrowed Identity (2014) dir. by Eran Riklis and screenplay by Israeli Arab writer, Sayed Kashua, based on two of his novels Dancing Arabs and Second Person Singular. Kashua’s sardonic humor holds up an ironic and often very funny mirror to both Israeli Jewish and Palestinian societies. Rated 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
