Jacob and Tamar Meir invite you to join their family as they celebrate the B’not Mitzvah of their twin daughters Noga and Maya at Congregation Sinai. Services on Shabbat morning will take place in-person in the Sanctuary, and will also livestreamed. Please join Noga and Maya and their family for this wonderful simcha.

In-Person:

Sinai has resumed in-person indoors Shabbat services in compliance with the new policy written by the Sinai Covid Health & Safety Committee effective July 10, 2021. Click here for information about attending in-person services. Please note that The Santa Clara County Health Department now recommends for everyone to wear a mask at indoor gatherings, regardless of vaccination status. THOSE WHO ARE NOT FULLY VACCINATED MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES ON SINAI GROUNDS.

Services livestreamed at https://www.sinai-sj.org/live

Shabbat Services in the Sanctuary

  • Pre-registration will no longer be required.

  • While passing through hallways and visiting the restroom, everyone is asked to wear a mask.

  • The main floor of the sanctuary will be divided into two clearly-marked sections.

    • One section will be reserved for fully vaccinated persons who will have the option of not wearing a mask. No distancing will be required.

    • The other section will be for unvaccinated persons and those who prefer to wear a mask. Seating will be arranged so that households can be distanced from one another. This will enable vaccinated parents to sit with their unvaccinated children.

  • The entire balcony will be available for those who are wearing a mask.

  • On the bimah —

    • When there are multiple people on the bimah, all are asked to wear a mask.

    • A fully vaccinated person alone on the bimah or at the podium may be unmasked.

  • In consideration of the fact that it may be a while before the children in our community are fully vaccinated, some committee members plan to continue wearing masks during services to convey that mask-wearing is supported. You might consider joining them.

Switching to Livestreaming

Beginning July 10, Shabbat services will no longer be offered virtually on Zoom. Instead, we will be shifting to a live streaming platform. You can view it at https://www.sinai-sj.org/live. No account or password will be required.

Please note that if you attend in-person, you may appear on-screen. The livestream view will be of the ark, the bima, the podium and the first two rows in the Sanctuary. Anyone whose preference is not to be included in the frame should sit a few rows back and not ascend the bimah.
