Shabbat Shalom!
As I prepare for becoming a Bat Mitzvah, I have learned the importance of dedication, perseverance, and time management. Balancing school work, preparing for my Bat Mitzvah, practicing for a piano recital, competing in tennis tournaments, and continuing my Chinese learning has made this a busy year for me.

I am very excited that next year I will be a leader in a school program called WEB (Where Everyone Belongs), which helps 6th graders and new students adjust to middle school.

My parashah Emor from the book of Leviticus is about the laws Aaron and his sons receive from God, communicated through Moses. These laws are about holidays and rituals. This happens at the base of Mount Sinai. The specific holidays explained are Shabbat, Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, the Omer offering, and Shemini Azeret.

I would like to give a big thank you to Doug Brook for preparing me for this special day. I am grateful to Rabbi Berkenwald for helping me with my D’var Torah, and guiding me to find a relatable topic I was interested in. Thank you Morah Ilona and Morah Michelle for expanding my Hebrew learning. Most importantly, I am thankful for my parents, who spend a tremendous amount of time and effort planning, driving me around to my classes during the middle of their work day, and supporting me.
