The Healing Power of Food and Story
We invite you to a 90-minute program with Yael Linzen, a filmmaker and storyteller. For over a year, Yael traveled across Israel to create the meaningful remembrance project, “A Place at the Table – מקום בשולחן”
Through intimate short films, the project sheds light on memory, resilience, and healing — capturing families and friends of the October 7 victims as they cook their loved ones’ favorite dishes and share stories filled with warmth, connection, and hope. Each film is a tender portrait, weaving together taste, memory, and love — a heartfelt reminder that food carries memories, connects us, nourishes, and heals.
The videos, subtitled in Hebrew and English, have been featured by Asif: The Culinary Institute of Israel and widely shared on social media.
The program includes:
Screening of 3–4 short films (with subtitles)
Yael’s personal reflections and behind-the-scenes stories
Open conversation and space for sharing
Food tastings, prepared by our Cooking Club:
Mafalfaleh; Druze bulgur dish (vegan)
Colorful Israeli-style lentil salad - click
Maple Pecan Cookies
This gathering is supported by our Film Club (screenings) and Cooking Club (Food tastings, prepared).
Free. Space is Limited. RSVP Required.
