Environmental Activity (Sh’mirat Ha-Adamah).

Sunday, March 22, 10:00 am.  The 7th graders will be going to Hellyer County Park, where they will learn about the role of native species in our ecosystem and do some planting in a new Native Plants Demonstration Garden. This is a great activity for the day before Tu B'Sheva. Rabbi Berkenwald will lead this class activity on Sh'mirat Ha-Adamah.

The Mission of our 7th Grade B’nei Mitzvah Program is for students to learn what it means to be an adult in the Jewish community through study, hands-on activities, family projects, and multi-generational interactions. Students will learn about key Jewish values, mitzvot, and rituals. Monthly activities will explore Jewish approaches to tzedakah, homelessness, hunger, the environment, as well as ritual themes like kashrut and tzitzit.
