Film Club at Sinai Less Than Kosher  : Sunday, November 16, 6:45 pm in the Mirkin Chapel. Doors open at 6:15 pmfor schmoozing and free refreshments, and the film begins promptly at 6:45pm with discussion to follow. Entrance is free, and free refreshments are provided by Congregation Sinai. 

Less Than Kosher (2023, Canada). This award-winning comedy stars Shaina Silver-Baird as 30 year old Viv, a self-professed “bad Jew,” who moves into her parents’ basement when her singing career falters and unexpectedly ends up working as a cantor at her family’s synagogue. The film's irreverently humorous perspective is thought-provoking and the singing magical. 8.4 audience approval. Co-starring David Reale and David Eisner with music by Ari Posner and lyrics from the prayerbook.
