Introducing Congregation Sinai’s new TORAH FOR TOTS program…
Mark your calendars for the 2008-2009 school year!
November 1 & 15 December 6 & 20 January 3 & 17 February 7 & 21 March 7 & 21 April 4 & 18 May 2 & 16
Congregation Sinai will embark on an exciting new Torah for Tots program, beginning Saturday, November 1st, 2008. The program is geared toward families with children ages 0-5, and is intended to be fun, interactive, educational, inspirational, and parent-led. We’d love for you and your young children to participate!
We designed this special Shabbat service to accommodate the youngest of worshipers, so you can expect plenty of singing, movement, and stories for your entire family to play a part.
Kathy Gottfried and Shoshana Miller co-coordinate and manage this program, with the goal of creating a place to celebrate Shabbat with our children, together. This new and innovative approach is meant to get everyone involved! What a wonderful way to build our community and share in the joys of Shabbat.
Here’s how it works: On a volunteer basis, two parents (from different families) partner to lead the service. A template for the service and a large-print siddur on flip chart paper already exist to help guide the leader and attending families.
A host of people will be available the week prior to your assigned date to provide instructions, feedback, suggestions, or any encouragement you might need. And of course, you’ll have a roomful of people attending each service who will be enthusiastic and eager to participate!
So mark your calendars for 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month! Sinai membership is not required. Please spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested in this exciting new program at Congregation Sinai. We hope to see you soon! Torah For Tots Melodies
